One of the glories of the medieval cathedrals was the rich display of color and light in their great stained glass rose windows. Following the same patterns but using simple materials, this book shows how you can make decorative transparencies to hang in a window at home or in school.

The author gives step-by-step instructions on how to build up a design out of flower and star shapes, or snowflake and crystal motifs. She describes how to make more complex and magnificent rosettes, reminiscent of the rose windows of old. In the second half of the book, the author shows how to create transparencies to illustrate fairy stories and folk tales.
